Professional Bio
Karolina Przewloka LaBrecque is a driven and empathic leader in her field of study and views her chosen career as a mission. She has accomplished a great deal over the last 10 years, becoming a pioneer and subject matter expert on the topics of autism, Hippotherapy, and the treating of disabilities overall. Karolina has held multiple faculty positions as well as directly applied her expertise in her own clinical practice to enrich the lives of clients. She earned quick recognition in her native country of Poland as a thought leader and continues to be sought after as a key speaker at conferences after relocating to the States, imparting her knowledge and illuminating professionals, academia, and the public. Most recently, in 2008, Karolina relocated to the States and expanded her footprint. She established a life coaching practice to serve a diverse client base, with issues ranging from weight loss to autism, through goal setting and attainment, inspiration, and coping mechanisms to better handle stress. Ms. LaBrecque is a firm believer in the interconnectedness of mind and body and works with families and clients to reach specific short- and long-term goals. At the same time, Karolina has been a program director at High Knoll Therapeutic Program. She provides therapeutic sessions to all ages, helping even the most challenging clients to overcome issues and minimize the impact of their disabilities. From 2003–2007, Karolina held faculty / adjunct faculty positions at three highly reputable universities in Poland, including the Medical University of Warsaw where she was the driving force in developing the first academic program for Hippotherapy. As an educator, Ms. LaBrecque ranked high among her students, many of who continued to use her as a resource long after their courses were completed. Previous to becoming an educator, Karolina established and managed her own successful clinical practice from 2004–2007. Ms. LaBrecque, a believer in early intervention to treat the individual needs of clients, employed an eclectic approach, applying an array of modalities to attain the best possible outcomes, including integration, behavioral, and play therapy. She also became well known for using horseback riding as an integral aspect of therapy. In addition, Karolina possesses strong research skills, extensive experience orchestrating international and regional conferences, and experience restructuring apprenticeship programs. She earned her Ph.D., Specialization in Child Development, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and Disabilities from Pilsudski University of Physical Education in Poland.a Master of Psychology from the University of Warsaw. In addition, she has earned multiple certifications, becoming a Life Coach and PATH International Registered Instructor within the U.S. In Poland, she earned certifications as a Hippotherapist and as a horseback riding instructor.
